SexOnWax welcomes Italian producer Joy Lee to the label with this brooding, evolving synth-heavy voyage into hypnotic mid-tempo tech house – the spoken vocal invites the listener in deeper, to float along on the bass line Fellow Italian producers ‘Ef and JWL take on remix duties in this package, the former injecting an acid tinge into his remix, taking the sound into darker territory, whilst the latter take things down a more garage-inspired route, squelching basslines playing havoc with driving percussion....

Omid 16B’s SexOnWax imprint returns with the ‘Indian Ocean EP’ – both his edit and prolific artist Andy Slate’s original mean business from the off, with tribalesque percussion communicating incessantly, summoning the Sun to rise again ‘What You Need’ lives up to its name, stripping the audio right back to the essentials, the intoxicated layers of question-and-answer rhythmic choreography segueing elegantly into the final cut on the EP, DIRTYHERTZ’s take on ‘Indian Ocean’, a more uptempo envisioning of the track, replete with swirling sawtooth synth stabs and an almost sonar-like pulse throughout...
